>Vi-PeC Ignition update

Mark Dobson of Vi-PeC ignitions gave us an update about the particular ignition systems: “The Vi-PeC should be sold as a "kit" it needs to be setup for various fuel and supercharger/turbo configurations...just as different pipes on a two stroke require different jetting. Due to the technical difficulty most people aren't able to make these adjustments (at least safely) therefore, these units will most likely be sold exclusively through R&D and Macc Racing...so they can supply the other necessary parts...i.e. supercharger/turbo and intercooler. The base price for the V44 is $1895. This model requires the use of a mechanical throttle body. This is the best choice for the racers because a larger throttle body can be implemented. For racing we also use a CDI, which provides a stronger spark, the Vi-PeC XPS CDI costs $875. We also use 2 wire coils ($440). The wiring harness adapter will run about $1500 (for the standard harness, CDI and Turbo boost control will be additional). For most applications the stock injectors can be used, but for 400+ hp we use Bosch "pink" injectors ($400). The V88 CDI costs $2550and it supports dbw (drive by wire) though, you would also need the adapter harness ($1500). Both setups will be a "plug in and go setup". Mark Dobson has equipped the illustrated FZR engine with a Vi-PeC ignition. The particular FZR will be used in Mark Hahn 300 race and Mark will ride it along with Chris MaccClugage.
