Back in 2005 when Rick Roy released his adjustable handlepole there were only a handful of riders that were using them on their race crafts. Those poles were equipped with billet top and bottom bracket while the production units featured cast ones. The pictures one is a billet unit and it was featured on Rick Roys sponsored rider Mikhail Ershovs race craft. Though, Rick revealed that he has found a company that will be able to produce those two handlepole parts out of billet aluminum without affecting the overall cost of the Handlepole.
