Is it possible to alter the crafts performance by simply changing the pump cone? Yes it is since it affects the pump set up. Recently we tested the two different pump cones on a tuned Kawasaki Ultra 260X. The aftermarket illustrated cone design has been patent by Minoru Kanamori though it has been manufactured by an American firm. When we tested the particular cone we recorded a drop of 190rpm and the top speed was declined by 0.2-0.3mph. Possibly the particular cone will have a positive effect if the pump (impeller, reduction nozzle, etc) set up will be changed, however so far it was not adding anything to overall performance.
