In Tuesday afternoon riders had to complete a close course race in order to finish off Day 1. The water was quite rough however these are the favorite conditions for Jean-Bruno Pastorello who was riding in a class of his own. He lapped everyone except Breton. The first five positions were closed by Herve, Chassier and Vinchendeaux. Greek rider Akis Malouchos climbed up to sixth even though he did not start well in the first place. He remains the first Greek rider in the overall standings.

Frenchman Jean-Bruno Pastorello remind to everyone that he did not win Akropolis Jet Raid three years in a row by accident. He won both motos in the morning from Kalamata to Pylos and back covering 180km in a class of his own. He rode with strategy in order to make sure that he will not have any issues with fuel consumption. David Chassier was very consistent and he got a 2nd and 3rd in the two motos. Greek rider Akis Malouchos is the first Greek rider in the 6th overall position. Pantelis Politis DNF in first moto by running out of fuel. In the afternoon a close course moto will take place.

Akropolis Jet Raid 2014: Let the race begin Monday afternoon, 9th of June, the Technical Inspection was concluded and the Parade of Nations started in the main Street at the Port of Kalamata. Lots of local people and tourists were gathered in the Paddock of Akropolis Jet Raid to admire the race boats, teams and athletes. The Major of Kalamata City, Nikas Panagiotis started the Ceremory of the Race along with the Representative of Region of Poloponnisos and its representative, Ntina Nikolakakou. The riders were announced to reach the podium one by one and officially the start of the Fourth Akropolis Jet Raid was declared. On Tuesday the riders will depart from Kalamata to go to Pilos via Petalidi and then to Methoni and back to Kalamata. In total they will cover a distance of 230km and they will refuel twice. It will be a full-throttle race if the water conditions are calm since there will be no penalty if they use the extra 10 liter fuel tank

Multi National (France) and World Champion Jean-Bruno Pastorello is the man to beat in the Akropolis Jet Raid 2014 since he has won in all events he participated in the past.
