>X Factor girl racer joins Aqua Cross

A new all-girl team has joined the fast-growing P1 AquaX Series, with the squad making its debut in the championship’s third round in Eastbourne this weekend. An X Factor finalist from 2009, Katy Bullock (Doncaster) has teamed up with leading British jet ski racer Anya Colley (Long Eaton, Leicestershire) to form the new outfit which is racing against 20 other riders in the East Sussex town as part of this weekend’s Eastbourne Extreme festival. Although Katy - pictured above left - is an experienced motorcycle racer, she has never raced at sea or on a jet ski. “I’m addicted to the thrill of speed, so when I was asked if I’d like to form a new team in AquaX with Anya I jumped at the chance”, said the 20-year old promotional model. “I know it’s going to be a tough start but I believe the skills of balance and control developed over the years on my motorbike will help me cope with the ever changing conditions at sea.” Katy has been riding off road motorcycles since the age of 5 and started competing in the exacting sport of Trials before moving onto the daredevil world of Motocross racing. “I’m the mud girl of the duo”, commented Katy, “whilst Anya is the water girl! Motocross is really exciting but also quite dangerous, so I’m hoping AquaX will be a bit safer.” Teammate Anya- pictured abiove right - is an ideal mentor for novice rider Katy as she starts her career racing at sea, having won numerous jet ski titles including world and British championships despite being just 20 years old. “I’m also in love with speed like Katy and now want to have a go at motocross racing”, she said. Backing for the team comes from motorsport mad Simon Wing (Newark) and his JTW Joinery business. Rally driver Simon also plans for Katy to take part in the daunting Isle of Man rally later in the year and is also thinking about racing in AquaX himself this season. Simon made his powerboat racing debut this year as navigator in the Edox Swiss Watches Panther 250 in Powerboat P1’s headline championship which runs alongside AquaX. The JTW Joinery team makes its debut today in the Eastbourne Grand Prix of the Sea race meeting, before racing in the Solent at Cowes on 25/26th August.

>State of the art SX-R

The photo says it all. The particular 15F engine equipped SX-R was prepared by Japanese aftermarket company Sato Engineering. We have seen it in the past and we have published related photos and spec in the Features section. However the particular one was prepared for the International Boat Show that was held this year in Japan nad it was launched in SE booth. The craftsmanship and the details taken to every single part are absolutely great. Such a shame Kawasaki is still holding the project in its draw...
