>Tom Phan wins LB2CAT 2011

From Ross Wallach of RPM Racing Enterprises: Congratulations to Tom Phan #35, Moreno Valley, CA on capturing the 2011 Long Beach to Catalina & Back presented by Sea-Doo, Sea-Tow, Tom's Truck Center and Dana Point Jet Ski. With almost perfect weather and on a borrowed boat, Tom Phan marched to victory after the two favorites, Craig Warner #71 RSM, CA Monster Energy/Kawasaki and #58 Mark Gerner, Aliso Viejo, CA PwcOffshore.com riders both retired with motor woes. Warner was the early favorite, winning both Round #1 of the Triple Crown of Offshore Racing - Dana Point to Avalon & Back and Round # 2- Dana Point to Oceanside & Back. Gerner was 2nd to Warner in both rounds of the Triple Crown but it was Phan's day as he passed Gerner approximately 1.5 miles from the breakwater on the return to Long Beach and set his sights on his 1st LB2Cat win finishing just shy of the record with a time of 54 minutes 55 seconds. TAD Racing entry Tyler White was hot on Phan's heels but would end up in the 2nd spot overall and 1st in the Pro/Am Class with a time of 55 minutes 10 seconds. Third Place went veteran racer, K.C. Heidler, #7 Irvine, CA Tom's Truck Center entrant who finished a mere 25 seconds behind White. It is of note to all that this years LB2Cat was an international event with two entries from Australia- David Baker, #169 and Warren Leighton #4 who traveled across the pond to compete and say they'll be back next year. Congratulations to Steve Friebe #58, Clovis, CA Clawson's Motorsports sponsored rider on winning the overall title for the 2011 Triple Crown of Offshore Racing! Friebe returned to the racing scene in 2011 after a year off and was a dominant force in offshore endurance racing during all three rounds of the Triple Crown of of Offshore Racing. Ten points behind Friebe was was K.C. Heidler #7 Irvine, CA Tom's Truck Center who took 2nd Place in the 2011 TCO overall standings. K.C. had a tremendous year and looks to be a potential threat for the 2012 TCO. 3rd Place went to the #10 of John Feeney overall in 2011 TCO, 4th Place overall in the 2011 TCO went to Russell Libby, #234. On behalf of RPM Racing Enterprises, we want to thank all staff, volunteers and race teams that participated in the LB2Cat and all three rounds of the Triple Crown of Offshore Racing.

>Unbeatable Marmon Wins Both Races in Plymouth

Russell Marmon (Christchurch, Dorset) maintained his 100 per cent winning streak with a brace of wins at the third round in Plymouth. The Kawasaki Ultra 300X rider took an early lead in both races and was then never headed as he powered to victory. The wins further extends Russell’s lead in the Elite Class to 36 points The Am300 Class fell to Paul Attiwell (Abingdon) who also rode into third overall to give Kawasaki a podium lock-out. “That was good”, he said after the second moto, “the weather was really predictable, it didn’t allow you to get complacent and I had to be constantly alert and aware. I need more fitness, as I have been a short course racer and I realise the physical fitness needs to be higher in AquaX.” In the Am200 Class Championship leader Duncan Johnstone (Fareham, Hants) had a memorable pair of races. After leading a closely fought Am200 battle in Moto 1 he was thrown off when he hooked a corner. He recovered and got back on and managed to stay ahead of nearest challenger Steve Robinson (Hull), who was making his AquaX debut. In Moto 2 Duncan won the class again revelling in the rougher conditions as he came fourth overall. View the pdf file of the results by clicking the attachment mark.

>Riva is cooperating with Sea-Doo

Most probably Riva has already signed a better means of cooperation with Sea-Doo and this assumption is made by the facts. On 10th of July Sea-Doo announced its new, 2012 line up while the very next day Riva promoted its new turbo kit for the Sea-Doo 4-TEC engine by launching a new video showing the whole kit on a brand new RXP X 260. This was a great move by Riva which actually shows that is investing a lot more on the Sea-Doo platform since R&D has done a great job with the Yamaha’s four-stroke engines.

>300X remains unchanged for 2012

According to the signs of the past Kawasaki has proved that it keeps its musclecraft unchanged for at least two years before the company makes its next big step. According to our source from Kawasaki USA the 300X will remain unchanged for 2012. It will not be equipped even with the suspension steering system that the company has already made a patent for it. This fact will give the opportunity to Akashi Company to recapture the sales that have been already lost due to the limited production. Additionally the aftermarket companies will have more time to spend and invest to the Kawasaki power plant. Therefore, we would expect to see it with a refresh look at the graphics.
