There has been a lot of talking about the feeling that these nozzles give to the rider especially when those four-strokes became very powerful. The steering nozzles that were made in the beginning of this decade there were designed for Runabouts that produced around 260hp. Nowadays a stock, out of the box, Runabout produces 300hp therefore, things have changed. I have experience that certain drop nozzles were becoming very stiff when I was turning the bars and some times so stiff that I could not ride the craft. Also, there was a step feeling on other occasions. According to Bill Chapin of R&D he had to change the design and experiment with new ideas in order to develop a new drop nozzle (the one in the picture) that would provide a smooth feeling and will not give the order a hard time. We had tested this drop nozzle extensively and honestly it was superb.
